1 · Bookings
A booking is confirmed when the deposit has been received and the inspection card has been signed (in person or via email).
- Deposit required: 20% of the agreed price, for any job over $500.
- Deposit waived for detailing jobs under $500 — full payment due at pickup.
- Bookings without a deposit are tentative only and may be released.
- Bookings are subject to vehicle inspection on arrival. We may adjust scope and price if the vehicle's condition differs from what was quoted.
2 · Cancellations & rescheduling
- 7+ days notice — full deposit refund or transferred to a new date.
- 2–6 days notice — 50% of the deposit retained as a late-cancellation fee.
- Within 48 hours — full deposit forfeited.
- No-show without contact — full deposit forfeited; future bookings require pre-payment.
Rescheduling is allowed twice per deposit at no additional cost, provided each reschedule is given more than 48 hours notice. Beyond two reschedules, the deposit may be forfeited at our discretion.
3 · Drop-off & pick-up
- Drop-off is from 9 AM on the scheduled date. Pick-up is by 4 PM on the agreed completion date.
- An inspection card is completed together at drop-off. Existing damage is noted and signed by both parties.
- The studio is not responsible for pre-existing damage not noted at drop-off, but is responsible for any damage caused while the vehicle is in our care (see clause 6).
- Vehicles not picked up within 7 days of the agreed completion date may incur a storage fee of $50 per day.
- Items left in the vehicle are recorded at drop-off. Items not recorded are at the client's risk.
4 · Payment
- Deposit at booking. Balance at pick-up.
- Accepted methods: bank transfer (preferred), debit / credit card (1.5% surcharge applies), cash.
- Card surcharges are disclosed before payment is taken.
- Late payment fees: 2% per week applied to outstanding balances 14+ days past due.
- The vehicle may be held by the studio until full payment is received.
5 · Warranty
All coatings and films are backed by the original manufacturer's warranty, applied by us as a certified or accredited installer:
- Ceramic coatings — 2, 5, or 9 years per package, warranted by GTECHNIQ.
- Paint Protection Film — 10-year warranty by XPEL.
- Window tint — Lifetime film warranty by TerminaX.
- Detailing — Workmanship guarantee. Return for free correction within 48 hours of pick-up.
Warranty validity depends on the client following the supplied aftercare guide. Failure to follow aftercare may void the warranty.
6 · Liability & damage
- The studio carries public liability insurance and tool-of-trade insurance.
- If damage occurs in the studio that was not present at the inspection card, we will repair or rectify the damage at no cost to the client.
- We are not liable for: damage caused by client-provided products; damage from pre-existing defects (e.g. paint failure under a coating because the paint was already compromised); damage that occurs after the vehicle leaves the studio; or consequential losses.
- Maximum liability for any single job is capped at the agreed price of that job, except where Australian Consumer Law requires otherwise.
7 · Aftercare responsibilities
- Follow the aftercare guide provided at handover.
- Ceramic: no wash for 7 days. Hand wash only with pH-neutral soap.
- PPF: avoid pressure washing within 30cm of film edges.
- Tint: do not roll windows down for 3–5 days after install.
- Notify the studio of any visible defects immediately — and before any third party attempts repair.
8 · Privacy & content
- Photographs of vehicles in our care may be used on our website, Instagram, advertising and other promotional materials.
- Vehicles will not be identified with the client's name, number plate or other personal details without explicit agreement.
- Clients may opt out of photography at drop-off by noting it on the inspection card.
- Customer contact details are stored solely for booking, communication and warranty record-keeping. We do not share contact details with third parties.
9 · Disputes
- Any issue with the work must be raised within 14 days of pick-up.
- First step is always direct conversation — call 0409 251 505 or DM @harfordautostudio.
- If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, both parties agree to attempt mediation through NSW Fair Trading before any court action.
- This agreement is governed by NSW law.
10 · Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. The version applicable to any booking is the one in effect on the date of booking (deposit paid).
Significant changes are posted on this page with the effective date. Existing bookings are honoured under the terms applicable at the time of deposit.
